Herbert Reginald Gallop (Bert) (1890—1958)

Landscape painter based in Sydney NSW.

Born in Gunning, NSW on 20 July 1890, Gallop was apprenticed to a signwriter and display artist. He studied at Sydney Art School under Julian Ashton and later became a leading member of the Australian Painters and Etchers Society.

He was an art teacher at the East Sydney Technical College, and in his spare time spent a great deal of time walking in the bush.

He exhibited at the Royal Art Society of NSW.
