Lilianne Ivins | Mountains Group 7

As a young woman navigating her presence in the world, I often feel the most free and alive when I’m in the bush, always wanting to experience the landscape as intensely as possible. To be consumed, enshrouded, and nurtured by it, in a very spiritual sense. I like being in the bush in the rain and wind, muddy, and freezing, it makes me feel close to the earth, and close to a sense of wildness within myself. This is what I bring to my painting.

My latest work explores the eerie beauty of the Megalong Valley and Mt Wilson. Captivated by the striking forms of the ferns, and the luscious undergrowth, I wanted to create a series of paintings reflecting on these mysterious worlds.
