BIO
Bethany Macdonald-Tucker

Bethany Macdonald Tucker is a painter, collage artist, and printmaker. Graduating from The College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Australia Bethany now regularly exhibits in both solo and group shows in Sydney and regional NSW. She has been a finalist in the Hornsby Art Prize, SWAP Recycled Art Prize and the Waverley 9 x 5 Art Prize in Sydney. She has also been a finalist in the Petite Pieces Prize in Brisbane, The Bowral Agency Still Life Prize and the St Columba’s Art Prize in Springwood.

Bethany's focus is on exploring the textures and shapes that underpin familiar domestic objects in Still Life arrangements and the interaction between the objects within the space. Collage is integral to this exploration allowing the work to be both painted and 'built' up in layers as she examines the relationships that are playing out on the painting surface. Exploring colour relationships is also vital to Bethany’s practice and using colour to celebrate the joy that can come from noticing arrangements in the domestic space.
